There’s Something About… My Friends
September 7, 2005Believe it or not I’ve been receiving emails from people asking me about the things I’ve been writing? Most of them want to “meet” my friends. Not a bad idea if you think about it. The problem is most of these people are living abroad now and the ones remaining here are out on revenge. Just kidding. Actually, they want to meet Marie, Yasmina, and Harlem. I’ve known these people all my life. Well this is just to give you an idea of who they are. I’m sorry but I can’t give you their numbers…yet…
Wait. Let me ask them again…
Marie is a reporter for ABS. You can see her every night on TV Patrol and sometimes Insider if I’m not mistaken. Yes, she’s a model as well. You remember the Cream silk commercial last year, the one at the park with barbecue? She also comes out on different magazines on a regular basis. She’s fated for greatness. So glamorous that everyone has to warn her to dress down a bit for the mall… Always dress for the Oscars or at the Hamptons. Well, she’s your ideal girl if you can KEEP UP!
Yasmina is the sweetest darling in the group. Everyone wants to marry her. The girl you introduce to your mom and surely approves of your choice. She gets marriage proposal on first date. I’m serious. She speaks five languages and works for the Trade office. Too bad coz’ she’s leaving for Spain to pursue her masters. So many guys want to follow her in Spain and promise to take her back as their wife. Good luck! This girl wants the grand feeling, the empire state building type of proposal. All the works… If you can strike an interesting conversation then you’ll have a chance…at least for the first dinner date.
Harlem is the male version of Marie and Yasmina. Gee whiz! I don’t even know how to start explaining the existence of this guy. He is the envy of every guy he knows. He has dated “the women” all over the world. Girls are intimidated of him coz’ he’s too good to be true. Again, the guy you introduce to your mom and she'll force you to marry him at once. He works for his dad protecting their last name… hehehehe…. He lives everywhere. Now, he’s in New York courting a girl he met in Amanpulo a month ago. He’s only in Manila when he gets heart broken. I don’t understand why this happens. We all want him to settle down. He deserves to be happy!
They will all be present on my birthday early next year no matter what happens. I don’t even know where to celebrate it but everyone wants to make it the biggest party ever. Yes, it’ll be another milestone in my life. The day I turn… I’m actually excited and scared at the same time. All I know is that someone dear to me will be here on that day… I hope…

Tell Marie, I won't stalk her outside her house or try to climb into her room. And I'm not greek….. I mean everything I do is something just for her.
Posted by Secret at September 7, 2005, 1:49 amThe way you describe yasmina is awesome! girlfriend material! But then again, I don't have any clue as to what girlfriend material is because the closest thing to a girlfriend I had was my right palm and a picture of Charlie sheen.
I'd love to talk to her and see if sparks fly, but Since I'm fat and have especially low self-esteem, can you be there and tell me how good my grammar is and how my family and friends really are proud of me? please?

Posted by Clinically Obese Gentleman at September 7, 2005, 4:12 pmSay it Alvin…The day you turn THIRTY! No need to hide it bro. I have had the luck to actually meet Marie who is stunning, if not mildly disorienting (and i mean that in the best possible way). She was acting a bit ditzy that night. I say "acting" because her words and manner betray a vicious intellect, very interesting indeed. Which is why I'm looking forward to meeting your friends as well. So I better be invited.
Posted by Big Fat Bald Guy at September 7, 2005, 4:18 pm[2] Tell Marie, I WILL stalk her outside her house and HAVE climbed into her room (and I won't shoot at her aunties either). And I AM Greek….. Everything I do is already just for her.
